IPL 2024: Aakash Chopra picks his probable best performers from GT vs MI clash

The IPL 2024 awaits one of its most anticipated clashes as Gujarat Titans are all set to take on five-time champions Mumbai Indians in the fifth game of the tournament. Both sides will take center stage at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 24. 

As fans anticipate a thrilling encounter between both sides, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra took centre stage and predicted who could be some of the best performers for their respective sides in the clash. 

Chopra picked three players each from Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans who could be game deciders for their teams. From the five-time champions, the former India batter picked Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Hardik Pandya. 

"Let me start with Rohit Sharma. He had one good season, which I think was 2013, but he hasn't had a 500-plus season after that. He has been a very successful captain. After that, I am thinking Ishan Kishan. There is a lot of pressure on him,” Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel. 

“The third player is, of course, Hardik Pandya. Suryakumar Yadav is not available for this match, but Hardik Pandya the captain, batter and bowler,” he added.

Furthermore, Aakash Chopra picked the likes of Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan, and Umesh Yadav as the potential standout performers from Gujarat Titans against Mumbai Indians in their upcoming clash. 

"One is Shubman Gill, again as a batter and a captain. The focus will be on how he captains. He is very young, but extremely talented. The second player I am seeing is Rashid Khan because he is coming back from injury, I am very intrigued about how he bowls and how many wickets he picks," Chopra said.

"The third player is Umesh Yadav. His ball swings and swing will come in handy for him if they bowl second because under lights there is something about that Gujarat pitch,” he concluded.
