There have been a series of setbacks for Delhi Capitals in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024. In one such instance, their star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has returned to Australia, succumbing to an injury. Marsh has contracted a partial tear in his right hamstring and is set to undergo treatment for the same.
It is worth noting that, the all-rounder was set to be named as Australia’s T20I captain ahead of the impending T20 World Cup. As per reports by ESPNcricinfo, Cricket Australia is said to have consulted the BCCI over the issue and has called back Marsh for the better cause of the national team.
“A few of our players are injured, and the worrying sign is Mitch Marsh. He has gone for a scan and the physios will give us a report in a week’s time. Then we will come to know what the exact situation is. Whether he can play the entire season or not depends on the reports,” Capitals’ assistant coach Pravin Amre had said ahead of LSG game.

The star all-rounder had a pretty rough outing for the DC in the IPL 2024. He last represented the franchise against Kolkata Knight Riders. The Aussie walked back without scoring any runs, as DC tasted defeat. The loss left a lasting scar for the team as they suffered a 106-run defeat that dented their Net Run Rate drastically.
David Warner undergoes scan as DC's injury woes continue
DC are currently facing multiple injury concerns. David Warner, who attempted to play a lap over short fine-leg on Friday, got hit on the finger and is not at his best. Reports have suggested that the veteran batter underwent scans after landing in Ahmedabad on Saturday due to swelling. DC's next match is scheduled on April 17 against the two-time finalists Gujarat Titans. They currently have four points after playing six encounters and are ninth on the table.
