IPL 2024: Kavya Maran’s change of emotions go viral as SRH lose thriller to KKR

Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad locked horns at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, March 23 in IPL 2024. Batting first, KKR posted a total of 208 runs in the first innings of the clash. 

However, Sunrisers Hyderabad put forth a brilliant performance and came within touching distance of chasing the mammoth target down. With 13 runs required from the final over, the reactions of Sunrisers Hyderabad owner Kavya Maran have been making the rounds all over social media. 

When Klaasen hit a six off the very first ball of the final over, Maran was seen jumping in joy; however, with the star batter’s dismissal, she was deflated and her changed reaction became the butt of all jokes.

It is no secret that Kavya Maran is a regular spectator whenever her team competes in the IPL. She has often been in the spotlight for her reactions during various points of the game, and the clash against KKR proved to be no different. 

Close game in the end: Pat Cummins

After a brilliant knock by Andre Russell, KKR managed to post 208 runs in the first innings. As Sunrisers Hyderabad came out to chase the mammoth target, they gave KKR a scare thanks to Heinrich Klaasen's sensational knock.

Mayank Agarwal and Abhishek Sharma opened the innings scoring 32 runs each, however, it was Klaasen who stole the show in the middle order, scoring 63 off 29, bringing his side within touching distance of a win. In the end, Hyderabad just fell short by four runs as they faced their first defeat of the season. 

After the game, skipper Pat Cummins reflected on his side’s performance, opining that he was happy with the way that they played. “Close game in the end, wonderful game of cricket. Unfortunately didn’t go our way. I thought for the most part, really happy with how we bowled. Obviously Dre Russ at the end there does what Dre Russ does, he’s pretty hard to contain. Overall, I thought we did a pretty good job,” Cummins said.
