IPL 2024: Kolkata Knight Riders' 1st Innings Highlights against DC in Match 16

Kolkata Knight Riders travelled to Visakhapatnam to take on Delhi Capitals. Shreyas Iyer who was once the DC skipper won the toss and chose to bat first. Rishabh Pant and his side had won the last game against Chennai Super Kings.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi made his way into the team for KKR for the game on Wednesday. Delhi Capitals also made a change to the team as they got Sumit Kumar back into the team. Mukesh Kumar, the pacer, was injured, dealing a huge blow to the home team.

Kolkata Knight Riders: 50 runs in 3.4 overs

Sunil Narine and Phil Salt began in the same fashion as they had against RCB. After not connecting the first few balls, Sunil Narine found his groove. The West Indian hit Ishant Sharma for 26 runs in the 4th over of the innings.

Powerplay 1: Overs 0.1 to 6 (Mandatory -88/1)

Sunil Narine continued to make merry with the bat along with Phil Salt. The opening stand of 60 was ended when Phil Salt was caught by Tristan Stubbs off Anrich Nortje.

Half-Century: Sunil Narine (52 off 21 balls)

After his quick-fire 47 runs in the game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Sunil Narine punished the Delhi Capitals' bowlers. Sunil Narine scored his fifty from 21 balls after slamming Rasikh Dar for 18 runs in his 1st over.

Kolkata Knight Riders: 100 runs in 7.3 overs

After reaching their 50 in 3.4 overs, KKR just needed 23 balls to score their next 50. With a six off Axar Patel from the bat of Sunil Narine, the KKR side reached the triple figure mark.

50 run stand – Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Sunil Narine (off 21 balls)

It seems the runs seemed to flow with ease for the KKR batters, with Sunil Narine looking dangerous. The second maximum against Axar Patel got the fifty-run stand between the two batters.

First Strategic time-out: Kolkata Knight Riders 126/1 (9 Overs)

Delhi Capitals and Rishabh Pant seemed lost and forlorn as the KKR batters punished them. The top three batters of the two time IPL winners lambasted the DC bowlers to all parts of the stadium.

Kolkata Knight Riders: 150 runs in 11 overs

The crazy run scoring from the KKR batters didn’t stop as Angkrish Raghuvanshi cut loose. Rasikh Salam Dar saw his bowling taken to the cleaners as KKR reached 150 runs in 11 overs.

100 run stand – Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Sunil Narine (85 off 39 balls)

If the fifty run stand came in just 21 balls, it took just 22 more balls for Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Sunil Narine to reach the 100-run mark.

Half-century – Angkrish Raghuvanshi (54 off 27 balls)

Playing just his first innings in the cash-rich league, young Angkrish Raghuvanshi registered his maiden half-century. The knock came off 25 balls to mark an amazing start to his IPL career.
