Mumbai Indians (MI) are taking on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the first home game of the season on Monday, April 1 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. After winning the toss, RR skipper Sanju Samson elected invited Mumbai to bat first. However, the hosts didn’t get off to a memorable start to their innings as new-ball specialist Trent Boult got the prized scalp of Rohit Sharma for a golden duck in the first over itself.
Boult bowled a good length delivery which shaped away from the MI opener and took his edge straight to wicketkeeper Sanju Samson. Following Rohit’s dismissal, the entire stadium which had turned up to see him bat went silent as the former Mumbai captain took the long walk back to the pavilion.

Boult further piled on the misery for the hosts as he trapped Naman Dhir in front of the stumps on the very next ball with an inswinger and left MI reeling at 1/2 at the end of the first over.
The Kiwi seamer returned in his next over to get another big scalp in the form of Dewald Brevis (0 off 1) to leave MI in all sorts of trouble at 14/3 after 2.2 overs. Courtesy of his sensational opening spell, Boult registered figures of 3/14 in three overs. At the other end, Nandre Burger also joined the party by getting rid of Ishan Kishan (16 off 14) in the fourth over to leave MI on 20/4.
