Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) scout and one-time IPL champion Manvinder Bisla showed faith in the experience that veteran fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat will bring for the franchise. Although, the 31-year-old has not featured regularly in the last three editions of the lucrative tournament, Bisla believes that the left-handed fast bowler can make a difference at the death.

"Jaydev Unadkat is a skilful bowler. It is difficult to find someone as rare as him who brings in so much experience," Manvinder Bisla told CricTracker over the phone.

"The left-hand bowler will add depth to the franchise (Lucknow Super Giants) as he can bowl at the death overs. The depth will increase for Lucknow and it is a very good addition for the franchise".

It was the 11th time in 16 auctions that the Porbandar-native found a home. He will be sharing the LSG dressing room with fellow fast bowlers Mark Wood and Avesh Khan.

And Bisla is of the opinion that the confidence he gained with his Test comeback after 12 years will replicate in the lucrative tournament.

"The IPL camp will decide his place in the Lucknow Super Giants playing XI. Not necessary that he will be picked up in the playing XI. It all depends on the captain. But Unadkat will bring experience with him," Bisla, who has featured in 39 IPL matches, said.

"It is important that the team backs him. If he as a player knows that he is going to play some matches then his performance will grow better. Obviously, there are going to be some ups and downs in every player's life but the way he has made a comeback, I think his confidence will show in the IPL as well," he added.

The newcomers in the IPL also bought power-hitters Nicholas Pooran (INR 16 crore) and Romario Shepherd (INR 50 lakh) in the auction which adds to the abilities that Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis brings.

"Both the players, Pooran who was the captain for the national team, if he plays for 30 balls then the entire match can change. Stoinis and Pooran will be a good combination for the side," Bisla said.

The Lucknow franchise finished at the third spot in the points table in their maiden season and will look to go one better in the upcoming season.
