Having registered a magnificent victory in the two-match Test series, team India will now be gearing up to take on the Windies in a three-match ODI series that is scheduled to begin on July 27. Ahead of the ODI series, it could be interesting to see how the Indian team forms its lineup to take on the Shai Hope-led side.

With the batters settled in the squad, the wicketkeeper position could be a point to discuss for the higher-ups. With Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson, the Indian team does possess two big names who could perform at the highest level behind the stumps.

With the ODI series right around the corner, players will be aiming to improve India's records and achievements. But meanwhile, there has been much speculation over who will be the stumper for India. However, former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer recently came forward to give his take on the same.

Opining over the possible combinations, Jaffer mentioned that both Kishan and Samson could be picked in India’s ODI line-up for the series. Furthermore, Jaffer opined that Samson could get the chance earlier than Kishan, as the games could prove crucial for Samson with the World Cup looming around.

"It could be both of them (Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson. That's the test they are going to face up until the World Cup team is going to get selected. For Sanju Samson, I feel he might get the opportunity first in this series, and it's huge games leading up to the World Cup for him. Because Ishan Kishan bats top of the order, they have got Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill there so Ishan Kishan might not get the opportunity as of now. Whoever gets the opportunity and whoever grabs that opportunity, I feel they will be picked up," Wasim Jaffer told ESPNcricinfo.

It is worth noting that the first ODI between the West Indies and India will be played at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Thursday, July 27. The third and final ODI of the series is scheduled for Tuesday, August 1.
