Temba Bavuma who remained unsold throughout the SA20 auctions, was snapped up by the Sunrisers Eastern Cape for the remainder of the season.

Faf du Plessis, the skipper of the Johannesburg Super Kings, is the highest run-scorer of the inaugural edition of the SA20 so far. He has amassed 369* runs in nine innings at an average of 46.12 with a strike rate close to 150. He has played a vital part in the team's success in the tournament.

The former South African captain Du Plessis had a few words of praise for current South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma who was snapped by Sunrisers Eastern Cape recently. He said, "Temba is in a bit of form now, so it’s important to score runs. Earlier, when there was a bit of pressure, it was hard for him to find form."

Du Plessis then spoke about how is Bavuma in such good form. He said, "The thing is at that time you think the game is moving quicker than it is. But you don’t have time to get in, and with every dot ball you feel more under pressure. But it’s good to see how he has come back. He played well in the recent ODI series, and what was impressive is the way he scored, he was more aggressive … something you can see he worked on."

In the two innings, Bavuma has played so far in the SA20, he has managed to score a half-century and has been dismissed for a golden duck. He might get a few more opportunities as the Sunrisers Eastern Cape are in the hunt to qualify for the semi-finals of the inaugural edition of the SA20. The franchise sits third, and qualification will depend on other teams' results. While, Faf Du Plessis and Johannesburg Super Kings sit second on the table with a game in hand and are looking solid to qualify for the semi-finals.
