It's very easy to get along with people in a team like CSK, there’s no hierarchy: Rachin Ravindra

After having a splendid season for New Zealand in the ODI World Cup 2023, Rachin Ravindra was picked up by Chennai Super Kings in the IPL auction. However, his spot in the playing XI wasn’t guaranteed as Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad were brilliant in the last edition of the competition. However, with Conway getting ruled out for the half of the season, the door was open for Ravindra to make his debut and the Kiwi international capitalized on that, smashing 83 runs in two matches at a whopping strike rate of 237.14. 

Speaking about his time so far in the CSK camp, Rachin revealed that it’s easy to get along with people in the team as everyone’s very welcoming and happy to help. He added that the likes of Stephen Fleming, MS Dhoni and newly-appointed skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad are always available to have a word with, which made things easy for him. The youngster also mentioned that there’s no hierarchy in the CSK camp, which made the environment ‘more chill’.

“It was pretty special. I think when we were watching the auction and as soon as it (getting signed by CSK) happened, I had Dave (Devon Conway) call me, Santner messaged me and then obviously, Flem (Fleming). So that's pretty cool... a lot of the lads, not just the overseas guys, but the Indian guys are such good people. So it's very easy to get along with people in a team like this,” Rachin was quoted as saying by India Today on joining Chennai.

“It's more from players being able to be comfortable, players knowing their roles and quite a relaxed environment, which makes everyone feel a bit more chill and can get along a bit better, and doesn't feel like it's a hierarchy because you can always have a nice conversation with Flem if you want to, you can have a conversation with Hussey, you can have a conversation with MS Dhoni, you can have a conversation with Rutu,” the 24-year-old added.

Meanwhile, CSK have won both their matches in the IPL 2024 season. First, they defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets and followed that up with a victory over Gujarat Titans at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
