Former team India's veteran pacer Jhulan Goswami was given a warm welcome during her arrival from England. While making her way outside the Kolkata airport, the senior pacer was showered with flower petals by young cricketers.
Jhulan played her last international game against England at the Lord's London. The right-arm pacer bowled an excellent spell in her final match as she scalped two crucial wickets for her side and gave away just 30 runs in her ten-over quota.

Making her debut at the age of 19, Jhulan represented India for more than 20 years. After her last game, the right-arm pacer thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for their constant support and motivation.
Upon her arrival, Jhulan spoke to media persons and stressed the fact that women cricketers need better infrastructure and exposure so that they can compete more proficiently in international matches. She said, “Women’s cricket in India needs a small push in terms of infrastructure support and more exposure to international cricket."
The veteran pacer also said that Women's IPL starting next year will be an ideal platform for women cricketers to get exposure and play with some of the best players around the world. However, she did not comment on her participation in the tournament.
“The women’s IPL would give Indian cricketers the much-needed exposure and boost. I haven’t decided yet if I want to play women’s IPL as and when that happens. I have not yet decided on my next step in my career. I need a break, I want to enjoy the Pujas," she said.
As mentioned earlier, the senior pacer represented India for more than 20 years in international cricket and troubled the best batters with her deliveries. The 39-year-old made her debut against England in Chennai in 2002 and also played her last game against the same opponents at Lord's London.
