The poster boy of Indian cricket, Virat Kohli is getting prepped for a blockbuster season of international cricket. In the last few years, the Men in Blue have failed to win any major trophy and that is one thing, that the Rohit Sharma-led side would want to change in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 and ODI World Cup. Ahead of the two cricketing extravaganzas, India’s one of the most dependable batters, Virat Kohli opened up and spoke about his mental preparation ahead of a marathon of matches.

Speaking on the matter, the 34-year-old mentioned that he draws inspiration from his past performances and learnings. The former India skipper also added saying that he analyses his game closely in order to get better and grow as a player. He mentioned being more resilient in order to keep pushing forward. 

“I draw inspiration from my past successes and learnings. Reflecting on the moments when I performed at my best and analyzing the areas where I can improve from losses helps me grow as a player. Every setback becomes an opportunity for me to come back stronger.

“What has truly defined me as a person is my ability to stay resilient and keep pushing forward, no matter how difficult the circumstances. People will always have opinions and judgments, but I have learned to trust my instincts and have confidence in my abilities. This self-belief has been the driving force behind all my achievements on the cricket field,” Kohli said while talking to Indian Express.

I engage in regular workouts, meditation, and mindfulness practices: Kohli

Kohli further opened up about his physical and mental preparations saying that he engages himself in workouts, medication and mindfulness practices on a regular basis. He also added saying that he follows a strict diet to remain fit throughout the course of the year.

“I engage in regular workouts, meditation, and mindfulness practices to keep my mind and body in sync. Additionally, spending quality time with my loved ones is vital for me to unwind and find emotional support. I make sure to follow a strict diet to stay in shape,” Kohli mentioned.
