India left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav produced a match-winning performance at Headingley, claiming career-best first-class match figures of 10 for 120 as Yorkshire defeated Essex by an innings and 106 runs inside three days in the Rothesay County Championship.

Yorkshire posted 390 in their first innings, with Dom Bess contributing an unbeaten 80, Adam Lyth making 62, Revis scoring 61 and Luxton adding 50. Bell returned to the crease in the second innings and shared 40 with Paul Walter, contributing 28 before Kuldeep had him caught behind playing back, with the score on 66. Walter made an innings-high 48 before being stumped off Bess. Bess had Shane Snater lbw offering no shot, and Kuldeep bowled Akhter with a big turning delivery at 84 for 8 before bowling Cook to complete the innings. Kuldeep's second-innings figures read 6 for 50 from 16 overs. Hill added two wickets in the second innings to go with his three in the first, and struck four times on day three overall.
