'Manla re bhauuuuu' - Virat Kohli lauds Suryakumar Yadav for his sensational knock in 2nd T20I against South Africa

India batter Virat Kohli has praised Suryakumar Yadav for the latter's match-winning knock in the second T20I against South Africa in Guwahati.

Suryakumar, who is currently no. 2 in the world as per the ICC Men's T20I Player rankings, put up a show as he took on the Proteas bowlers and helped India take an unassailable lead in the three-match T20I series 2-0, with one match to go. The Men in Blue defeated South Africa by 16 runs thanks to impressive knocks by Virat Kohli, vice-captain KL Rahul, and Suryakumar.

The Mumbai Indians batter took to social media to post a picture that he captioned “2/2 IN”. Kohli lauded the performance projected by the right hander on the pitch as he interestingly responded to the message in Marathi.

Virat Kohli praises Suryakumar’s performance

Kohli was left in awe of Suryakumar's sensational knock as the latter's pyrotechnics helped India post a mammoth total of 237. Suryakumar's knock earned praise from a lot of people across the cricketing fraternity and one among them was former India skipper, Virat Kohli.

Delighted with his performance, Kohli responded to the current World No. 2 on Instagram. He commented on the post, “Manla re bhauuuuu (acknowledged brother)."

The post was out of respect for the 32-year-old’s knock in the 2nd T20I for and his recent string of sublime performances that he has delivered lately. Kohli too was instrumental in the match as he scored a splendid 28-ball 49, just falling short of a half-century.

Team India will now play the third and final T20I match against South Africa on Tuesday (October 4) in Indore as they look to seal the series with a white-wash. Post the conclusion of the T20I series, both sides will head into a three-match ODI series.

India will look to maintain their consistency and dominance as the T20 World Cup 2022 is just weeks away. They will be reliant on Suryakumar for delivering in Australia.
