PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi addressed the criticism surrounding the mid-series overhaul in a statement on September 2. Naqvi questioned whether cricket was over after the recent Test series loss to England, given that South Africa lost to Namibia and India to Ireland. The PCB chief's comments drew sharp responses from cricket boards and observers worldwide.

"We are going to launch a new cricketing challenge for coastal cricketers. Clear an iceberg and you win an all-expenses paid educational trip to meet Mohsin Naqvi and learn about selection strategy. Trip can be one-way if you wish," Iceland Cricket tweeted.

Earlier, after Pakistan’s defeat at Lord’s, the team attended a dinner with King Charles. Iceland Cricket took a cheeky swipe at both the PCB and the Pakistan team over the visit.

"You can bet he didn’t know who most of the players were, because nobody else does," they wrote.
