In a recent turn of events, Naushad Khan, father of the emerging cricketer Sarfaraz, is being exploited in a series of scams targeting aspiring cricketers. The concern arises as Naushad gained prominence last month when his son, Sarfaraz, marked his debut for India, expressing gratitude for his father's relentless support throughout his journey.

The former cricketer and coach took to social media to address the alarming situation, shedding light on the fraudulent use of his identity. Naushad revealed in a video how unscrupulous individuals are fabricating fake profiles on platforms like Facebook and Instagram, soliciting money from unsuspecting youngsters. The scammers make lofty promises, from securing a chance to be an IPL net bowler to assuring selection for state teams or prestigious academies.

Naushad Khan, responding to the misuse of his name in scams targeting young cricketers, urged aspiring players to trust in their hard work, clarifying that he is not presently associated with any IPL team and has no coaching commitments at the moment.

“Good morning, friends. Once again, I have come in front of you because my name (Naushad Khan) is being used by many people to create fake IDs on Facebook and Instagram. They are asking for money from kids, ensuring that they’ll become a net bowler in the IPL, get selected in the academy, or be on a state team. I urge you to not get involved in this and trust your hard work. I am not currently connected with any IPL team at this time. I am not going to coach right now. So, thank you very much for not getting involved in this,” Sarfaraz Khan’s father said in the video.

This incident raises concerns about the vulnerability of young and aspiring cricketers who may be enticed by false promises. Naushad's public warning serves as a crucial reminder for individuals to exercise caution, rely on their hard work, and avoid falling victim to deceptive schemes.

Sarfaraz makes solid start to his career

Sarfaraz, Naushad's son, kicked off his career on a high note with a remarkable debut for the Indian team against England. He swiftly gained attention by delivering impressive fifties in both innings of his first Test. Although he faced a setback in the second game, the budding cricketer is eager to exhibit his skills once again in the final Test of the series commencing on March 7.  All eyes will be on Sarfaraz as he aims to continue making strides in his promising cricket journey.
