The Netherlands cricket team is gearing up for a challenging series as they prepare to tour Nepal for bilateral ODIs and a T20I tri-series in February and March. The 6 ODIs are going to part of World Cricket League 2. The tour holds significant importance as all three participating teams – Netherlands, Namibia, and host country Nepal – have secured qualification for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the United States and the Caribbean scheduled for June 2024.
In a recent statement, the Netherlands Cricket Board announced that despite some setbacks due to injuries and other commitments, they are sending a determined 16-man squad led by regular skipper Scott Edwards. Notably, twelve players from the squad were part of the Netherlands' historic journey in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, showcasing the team's experience and depth.

Netherlands, Nepal tussle could be start of a new rivalry
This tour marks a significant reunion between Nepal and Netherlands, with their last encounter dating back to June 2023 during the World Cup Qualifiers. Netherlands emerged victorious in that ODI clash, winning by seven wickets. However, Nepal's previous triumph against Netherlands in the T20I tri-series back in April 2021 sets the stage for an intriguing battle between the two sides.
