The 11th match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 will see table-toppers New Zealand (NZ) taking on Bangladesh (BAN) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, also known as the Chepauk Stadium, on October 13.

There have been reports suggesting that Kane Williamson might make a comeback in this game after missing the first two matches due to a right knee injury. He has been seen practising in the nets and appears fit to play. His return could be a significant boost for New Zealand, who have been in excellent form and have enjoyed a string of impressive performances.

New Zealand started their campaign with a victory over arch-rivals England, thanks to explosive batting performances from centurions Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway. They followed it up with a comprehensive win against Netherlands, with Mitchell Santner shining by taking five wickets and smashing 13 runs off the final delivery of their innings.

On the other hand, Bangladesh began the tournament with a win against Afghanistan but suffered their first defeat against England. England bounced back strongly after their loss to New Zealand and registered a convincing 137-run victory over Bangladesh.

According to Accuweather, the weather in Chennai is expected to be humid with a hazy sun during the afternoon. There will be minimal cloud cover, and chances of precipitation are low. The night could bring some clouds and showers, but they are expected to come after game time. The temperature is predicted to range between 27 to 32 degrees Celsius. The match is scheduled to start at 02:00 PM IST following the toss at 01:30 PM.

Chepauk Stadium is favourable for spinners:

Chepauk's wicket has been quite supportive for the spin bowlers but it supports the batters also if they avoid cross-batted shots. Playing in the 'V' can be the best strategy for all the batters on this wicket. Early on, we can expect seam movement and later on, it will start assisting the spinners as the game progresses. We might be in for a relatively low-scoring clash, keeping the conditions in mind.
