Young Pakistan pacer, Naseem Shah, has recently been appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador of the Balochistan Police. The 19-year-old was honoured with the DSP rank in a ceremony hosted at the IG Balochistan Police Office in Quetta.

Soon after the program, the Pakistan international revealed that he used to be really afraid of policemen as a child but growing up, he understood the sacrifices that they make. He also stated their importance and mentioned that he has immense respect for the police and feels deeply grateful for their assistance.

“As a child, I had been scared of policemen. My parents would scare me by mentioning the police. However, as I have grown up. I have come to realise the sacrifices they make to keep us safe. They don't just put their lives at risk for us, but I have a far more simple example of their service.

Those appointed with us at the NCA stay awake at night to protect us. I cannot even function if I do not get a good night's rest. I have immense respect for the police and am deeply grateful for their assistance,” said Naseem on his appointment as quoted by Daily Pakistan.

Notably, his national teammate, Shaheen Shah Afridi was appointed as the goodwill ambassador of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police last year. The government body wanted to promote the soft image of the law enforcement agency among the citizens and thus, he was given the responsibility. Addressing the ceremony, Afridi paid tribute to the martyrs of the police force.

Shah to feature for Quetta Gladiators in the upcoming PSL

Meanwhile, after picking seven wickets from three matches in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Naseem Shah will be gunning to do well when he once again represents Quetta Gladiators in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The Sarfaraz Ahmed-led finished fifth on the points table last season and thus, needs to improve massively this year in order to challenge for the title once again.
