Following Pakistan Women's disappointing defeat against the West Indies, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reconstituted its national selection committee for the female national team. The first and third ODIs were won in dominant fashion by the visitors after trouncing the hosts by 113 runs and 88 runs, respectively. The inviting team did put up a spirited fight in the second ODI, although they couldn't cross the line, with Windies emerging victorious in a game which went right down to the wire.

In the wake of the drubbing, the Pakistan Cricket Board, under the chairmanship of Mohsin Naqvi, have re-engineered the composition of the women's selection committee by appending former Pakistani cricketers Abdul Razzaq, Asad Shafiq, and Batool Fatima to the panel. Asmavia Iqbal and Marina Iqbal continue on as retained members from the previous jury. Similar to the structure of the men’s national selection committee, that of the national women’s team will comprise the coach and captain operating without a chairman, and decisions will be based on a majority consensus.

The ultimate duty of the remodelled selection committee will be to finalize the squad for the upcoming tour of England, featuring three T20Is and three Women’s Championship 2022–25 fixtures, scheduled for May 2024.

The team currently ranks fifth in the ongoing Women's Championship cycle, ending 2025. In the current cycle, the Women in Green have played a total of 21 games, but won only eight, which ultimately had their net run-rate at an underwhelming -0.456. Thus, in order to ensure direct qualification for the ODI World Cup in 2025, the Pakistani women have their task cut out to come better in the upcoming fixtures.
