PSL 2023: Naseem Shah fined by PCB for putting on 'wrong helmet'

The 20-year-old Naseem Shah was fined by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after his recent match against Multan Sultans in the ongoing Pakistan Super League. Naseem, who plays for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), walked out to bat for his side and was seen wearing the helmet of his Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) side Comilla Victorians, the franchise that he also plays for in the BPL. 

As per the Code of Conduct of the PCB, Naseem was fined ten percent of his match fee for wearing the wrong helmet. Playing for Quetta Gladiators, Naseem Shah has been one of the young emerging talents of the side and the league as well.

Quetta Gladiators were just able to put 110 on the scoreboard in their match against Multan Sultans. Sultans were able to chase the target easily as they scored 111 in just 13.3 overs. The 20-year-old Ihsanullah was the star of the match as he completed a fifer and just gave away 12 runs in four overs.

Quetta Gladiators take on Karachi Kings next 

After losing the first match of the ongoing PSL season, Quetta Gladiators find themselves in last place on the point standings currently. They will be quickly looking to change that as they take on Karachi Kings in the sixth match of the tournament. Kings have also struggled in the competition, as they’ve lost two out of the two matches that they have played this season.

They lost their first match against Peshawar Zalmi in a nail-biting contest where Peshawar won the game by two runs. After the first loss, they took on Islamabad United, which they lost as well. Coming off back-to-back losses, Karachi Kings will be desperate to grab their first victory of the season.

Quetta Gladiators will be looking for an improved performance from their batting attack, which collapsed in the first game.
