Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja was sacked just days after the Green Brigade endured a humiliating series defeat at the hands of England in the three-match Test series (3-0). Following his sacking, PCB appointed a 14-member committee led by Najam Sethi which has irked Ramiz over the shift in power.

Najam Sethi, who has served as chairman before, has been reinstated after the government changed hands by confirming the removal of Ramiz from the role. Najam wasted no time to celebrate his selection and made a late-night tweet on Ramiz getting sacked which clearly did not go down well with the latter.

Adding to this, the former World Cup winner was displeased by Mohammad Wasim’s exit from the side and stated that he deserved to be given a farewell ‘with respect’.

"To bring just one person you changed the entire constitution of Pakistan Cricket Board. I have never seen this happen in the world that to adjust Najam Sethi, you had to change the constitution. In the middle of the season, when teams are coming to play in Pakistan, you have done this, and then you changed the chief selector. The point is that Mohammad Wasim whether he was doing a good job or not, is a former Test cricketer, and you should have made him leave with respect,” Ramiz said on his YouTube channel.

These people are here for the limelight: Ramiz Raja

Ramiz, who was appointed chairman of the PCB in September 2021, further made an explosive remark stating that these ‘people’ were here for ‘limelight’ by aiming a dig at Najam Sethi.

"This Najam Sethi is tweeting 2:15am at night that Ramiz Raja has been sacked, star congratulating me. I have played Test cricket, this is my field, and it hurts to see these people from outside cricket trying to act like a Messiah. I know that their motives are non-cricketing. These people are here for the limelight," added Ramiz.
