The speculations around Ravindra Jadeja leaving the Chennai Super Kings franchise after a fallout have been going on for a long time now, however, the recent updates seem to have provided a clear picture. According to the latest reports, the CSK management have denied trading or releasing the all-rounder from their side. The rumours had started after Jadeja unfollowed CSK on social media and the captaincy confirmation of MS Dhoni for IPL 2023 added up to the confusion among the fans.
Apart from Jadeja, Shubman Gill has also been in the news from few days back, as the IPL 2022 title winning franchise tweeted "It's been a journey to remember. We wish you all the best for your next endeavour, @ShubmanGill!". This cryptic tweet left the fans wondering if Gill has been traded to another franchise after the trading window for IPL 2023 had opened.
“Recent reports even suggested a trade between CSK and Gujarat Titans for Jadeja and Shubman Gill. Both the franchises have denied the trade-off categorically to Cricbuzz,” a report by them read.
"There have, however, been requests for trade for Jadeja from a couple of other teams, Delhi Capitals being one of them. But the CSK management has told Cricbuzz that they have no plans to part with the all-rounder, arguably one of the best in the world."
However, the Gujarat franchise has also denied trading-off any player yet while Rahul Tewatia and Sai Kishore seemed to have found interests among the other IPL franchises. The report had also added that Delhi Capitals have made an enquiry for Jadeja.
“Besides Jadeja, Cricbuzz understands that Gujarat Titans have got requests for trade for Rahul Tewatia and R Sai Kishore but the IPL champions have declined the offers. The transfer/trade window will remain open till one week before the auction and will re-open after it,” the report added.
Ravindra Jadeja set to miss the T20 World Cup 2022
After injuring his right knee, Jadeja had to undergo a surgery in the middle of the Asia Cup 2022 and was ruled out of the remainder of the tournament. The left hander wasn’t named in the T20 World Cup 2022 squad as he needs time to recover from the surgery and has been under the observation of the Indian medical team.
