The Indian team is set to have a preparatory camp in Alur starting August 25. The players currently in Ireland, including Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Sanju Samson, and Tilak Varma, are slated to join the camp a day later.

According to insider sources, the camp aims to fine-tune the players' skills ahead of the Asia Cup tournament. A senior BCCI official revealed that the available players will be reaching Bengaluru by August 23 evening for the camp in Alur while the players involved Ireland will be leaving on August 24. They are likely to first go to their home city and then join the camp in Alur on August 25.

The upcoming preparatory camp is designed not only to optimize the performance of the complete Asia Cup squad but also to includes 14 net bowlers.

"In addition to the Asia Cup squad, 14 net bowlers will be part of the Asia Cup preparatory camp. The idea is to ensure intensity and quality of net sessions is right up there and it doesn’t burn out the bowling resources," a BCCI official said as quoted by News 18.

The coaching staff, led by the legendary Rahul Dravid, will be present, ensuring holistic development during the camp. The men’s senior selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, will also oversee the proceedings.

A special focus will be on the players returning from injury, especially KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. Their performance during the camp will draw attention, as they aim to regain their rhythm after a substantial time away from competitive cricket. Ajit Agarkar confirmed Iyer's complete fitness, with Iyer having already played three 50-over matches at the NCA.

The successful comeback of Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna has boosted India's morale ahead of significant white-ball tournaments like the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup. The management's priority now is to maintain the core squad's fitness leading up to these crucial events.
