The IPL 2023 came to a fitting end as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) claimed their fifth title by defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) by five wickets in the final on Tuesday, May 30 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After being put in to bat first, GT posted a massive score of 214/4 in the first innings riding on a scintillating innings by Sai Saudharsan (96 off 47). In reply, CSK were set a revised target of 171 in 15 overs after rain played spoilsport during their innings.

The MS Dhoni-led side registered a thrilling win as they managed to chase down the target on the last ball of the innings courtesy of Ravindra Jadeja's blitzkrieg. With ten runs needed off the last two balls, the all rounder smashed a six and a four off the last two balls to help his side win their fifth IPL title and get level with Mumbai Indians in terms of most trophies won.

As another IPL season came to a close, let's take a look at the complete award winners list and prize money distributed after the final of the T20 extravaganza.

In the inaugural edition of the IPL the winners received a prize money of INR 4.8 crore and the runner-ups got INR 2.4 crore. Since then, the prize money has grown over four times and is expected to increase even further in the coming seasons.

The total prize purse for teams in the ongoing edition is INR 46.5 crore, which has been the same for the last couple of seasons. In a bid to make the league even more attractive, the individual prize figures have also been increased over the years.
