Reports: Virat Kohli gifts INR 2.17 crore BMW car to newly-married KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty

Reports also claim that Salman Khan, who is a close friend of Suniel Shetty, has gifted Athiya Shetty an Audi car worth INR 1.64 crore.

Flamboyant India batter and former skipper Virat Kohli has gifted a BMW car worth INR 2.17 crore to the newly married couple KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty as per reports. India wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul and Bollywood actor and Suniel Shetty's daughter Athiya Shetty tied the knot on January 23 at Suniel's farmhouse in Khandala.

The couple took wedding vows in the presence of their family members and close friends. Reportedly Kohli, who happens to share a close bond with Rahul since his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) days and now in the Indian set-up has gifted the couple a BMW car worth INR 2.17 crore. 

It is also believed that mega-star Salman Khan, who is a close friend of Suniel Shetty, has gifted Athiya Shetty an Audi car worth INR 1.64 crore among the highly expensive gifts the couple received from their family members, friends and relatives.

Not just that, the 2011 World Cup winning captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has also reportedly gifted Rahul a Kawasaki Ninja bike worth INR 80 lakh. Cricket and Bollywood’s new power couple are to host a grand reception in Mumbai and the wedding reception will take place after the Indian Premier League (IPL). 

After the wedding ceremony, the duo shared the first pictures from their wedding on Instagram with a heart-warming caption. 

"In your light, I learn how to love…'. Today, with our most loved ones, we got married in the home that’s given us immense joy and serenity. With a heart full of gratitude and love, we seek your blessings on this journey of togetherness,” both Athiya and Rahul posted on Instagram.

Meanwhile, the cricketer has been exempted from his national duties at present from the ongoing series against New Zealand. Team India clinched the ODI series 3-0 and now will focus onto the T20Is scheduled to commence on Friday, January 27.
