India's star batter Rishabh Pant is in a stable condition following his terrifying car accident on Friday, December 30. He has been moved out of the ICU and placed in a private suite amid concerns of infections due to visitors flocking to the hospital after learning about Pant's accident.

Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) Director Shyam Sharma, who has been in close contact with the injured cricketer ever since his unfortunate accident, revealed that the southpaw was moved to a private ward by the hospital administration. He also shed light on the cricketer's recovery, saying he was doing a lot better now.

"Rishabh Pant is doing well and has been shifted to a private suite due to fear of infection. We have told his family and hospital administration to shift him to a private suite. He is doing better and will recover soon," Shyam Sharma was quoted saying by NDTV on Monday.

People visiting him should avoid it as there are chances of infection for Pant: Shyam Sharma

Sharma had advised people to refrain from visiting the injured cricketer as there was a chance of aggravating his wounds due to infection. He had even advised high-profile personalities to refrain from visiting the hospital due to the risk of infection to the wounded cricketer.

"Those who are going to meet Pant should avoid, as there are chances of infection. There should be no VIP movement to meet Pant, and people visiting him should avoid it as there are chances of infection for Pant," Sharma had warned on Sunday.

The medical personnel at the Max Hospital in Dehradun were also concerned about the cricketer's well-being as several visitors were flooding in to catch a glance of the Indian star.

"There is no mechanism in place to filter visitors for Pant. Hospital visiting hours are from 11 am to 1pm, and 4pm to 5pm and only one visitor can meet a patient at any given time. Rishabh Pant’s case is a high-profile one due to which more visitors are streaming in and hence this problem,” a staff member said to the media.
