Rohit Sharma ruled world cricket for 10-12 years, he is better than Virat Kohli: Sohail Khan

Giving opinions on popular debates is a common thing in cricket and Pakistan bowler Sohail Khan gave his view on why he thinks Rohit Sharma is a better batter than Virat Kohli. Pacer Sohail Khan was a bright young bowler when he entered international cricket in 2009, making his debut against Zimbabwe.

He took four wickets in his debut ODI series and bowled at a great economy as he didn’t let the opposition batters score much. He made his T20I and Test debut in a span of a few months and became a key player for Pakistan. He last played an international match against World XI in 2017 and hasn’t been selected since.

Pundits and experts have given their opinions throughout the decade on who is a better batter between current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and former skipper Virat Kohli. This surely is a never ending debate, one that will never have a clear winner and Sohail Khan became the recent one to join the bandwagon.

Speaking on a show, he said:

"Virat Kohli is a great batter, but Rohit Sharma is even better than Kohli. Rohit is technically better, he plays late and has a lot of time. Rohit ruled world cricket for 10-12 years."

Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have a big year ahead of them with the Border-Gavaskar Trophy coming up followed by the Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup. Fans would be hoping for a great performance from the duo in the series against the mighty Australians, which begins February 9.

India might also play the World Test Championship Final if they defeat Australia in the upcoming Test series. The Indian team would be aiming to make it to the WTC Final and win it before shifting focus on the ODI World Cup at home.
