England have the maximum representatives (54) in the 158 overseas options available for the franchises as the remaining 160 players belong to the South African contingent. Among the 54 English players, 13 England players are under the second highest base price of ZAR 850,000, with 11 Sri Lankan, 7 West Indians, 6 Afghanistan players, 2 Australians, 2 Kiwis, and one from Ireland, also in the same bracket.

Ten South African players among those in the second tier list are - Rassie van der Dussen, Tabraiz Shamsi, Dwaine Pretorius, Lungisani Ngidi, Janneman Malan, Rilee Rossouw, Temba Bavuma, Reeza Hendricks, Keshav Maharaj, and Andile Phehlukwayo.

We are looking forward to the auction and seeing how the squads are formed for this exciting first edition: Graeme Smith

Notably, all the six franchises have bagged four players each as pre-signings, and have around ZAR 34 million remaining in their purses. The auction for the upcoming tournament is scheduled to take place in Cape Town next week, on September 19.

The recently appointed League Commissioner for the upcoming tournament, Graeme Smith, had expressed his delight after receiving widespread interest in the newly incepted league, scheduled to commence next year. He reckoned that the league will provide a platform for the young Protean cricketers in the country to make a name for themselves while brushing shoulders with some of the biggest names in the world.

"We are thrilled with the interest received from the cricket community to be a part of the SA20. The final list of players has an exciting mix of international stars, the class of Proteas players and upcoming talent waiting to make a name for themselves on a global stage. We are looking forward to the auction and seeing how the squads are formed for this exciting first edition of the SA20," SA20 League Commissioner Graeme Smith said.
