In a standout performance, Samit Dravid, son of India's head coach Rahul Dravid, showcased his cricket prowess with an impressive 98-run inning for Karnataka in a recent Cooch Behar Trophy clash against Jammu & Kashmir. The young Dravid exhibited his talent with 13 fours and a well-struck six, contributing significantly to Karnataka's commanding victory by an innings and 130 runs.

Batting at No. 5, Samit formed a formidable partnership, amassing 233 runs for the fourth wicket alongside Karthikeya KP, who scored a splendid 163 runs on 175 balls. Karnataka declared their first innings at 480 for five in 100 overs, a total that proved insurmountable for J&K.

The proud moment for the Dravid family was not lost as Rahul Dravid and his wife Vijeta were spotted cheering for Samit during his match against Uttarakhand at Mysuru's SDNRW Ground. Despite being on leave from national duty, Dravid seized the opportunity to witness his son's cricketing prowess firsthand.

Notably, this wasn't the first time Samit Dravid has made headlines in the Cooch Behar Trophy. Looking ahead, Rahul Dravid is poised to resume his coaching duties for the Indian team in the upcoming Test series against South Africa. The Indian team are currently involved in a three-match ODI series, and following this, the Test series is scheduled to kick off from December 26 to December 30, at the SuperSport Park, in Centurion.
