With the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 set to begin on October 3 in the UAE, Scotland women came forward and announced their squad for the marquee event. Star all-rounder Kathryn Bryce will lead Scotland in the tournament, and her sister Sarah Bryce will be the vice captain.

This will be the very first campaign for Scotland women in the World Cup, and they will hope to put forth their best performances. It is worth noting that the squad is full of all-rounders as Priyanaz Chatterji, Katherine Fraser, and Megan McColl are also included in the squad.

With the announcement of the squad, head coach Craig Wallace came forward and heaped praise on the overall balance of the side, talking of how they have got match winners from start to finish and how hopeful he was for the upcoming campaign.

"The make-up and balance of this squad is outstanding, we've got match-winners from start to finish within it, which I think is the big difference in the evolution of this squad during my short tenure. People have been putting in crucial performances each time they step onto the field, and that runs right the way through the squad,” Craig Wallace was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

It is worth noting that Scotland qualified for the tournament after they finished in second place behind Sri Lanka in the qualifiers, and will be going into the competition with strong performances behind them.

"If you look at the recent Netherlands series, we won five games out of six, and there is a depth in the wider group now, proved by some of those who've not been selected but who've been pushing and performing all year, it was great to be able to argue about players' cases in a positive sense based on the work they've all produced,” Wallace said.
