Former India opener Virender Sehwag is known for his witty social media posts, and he once again grabbed fans' attention with a humorous take on the birthdays of some of India's greatest captains born in the month of July.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Sehwag pointed out that three iconic Indian skippers, MS Dhoni, Sourav Ganguly, and Sunil Gavaskar, celebrate their birthdays within a span of just four days in July.

Dhoni was born on July 7, 1981, Ganguly on July 8, 1972, and Gavaskar on July 10, 1949. Sehwag then playfully wondered who would occupy the "missing" July 9 spot, joking that another future India captain or cricketing icon might be celebrating a birthday on that day.

"July 7th- MS Dhoni
July 8th- Sourav Ganguly
July 9th- ?
July 10th- Sunil Gavaskar. The missing 9th. Somewhere, a future captain and icon will be born or celebrating his birthday today. #JulyMePaidaHoJaaoCaptainBanJaao," Sehwag posted on X.

The coincidence highlighted by Sehwag is indeed remarkable. Gavaskar, Ganguly, and Dhoni are among the most influential captains in Indian cricket history, with each leaving a lasting legacy in different eras.

Gavaskar laid the foundation for India's rise in cricket with his fearless approach during the 1970s and 1980s. Ganguly transformed India into a confident and aggressive overseas unit after taking charge in the early 2000s, while Dhoni went on to become India's most successful captain, leading the Men in Blue to the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy.

The legendary opener also wished his former Indian captain, Sourav Ganguly, a happy birthday in his own unique style. Remembering Ganguly’s historic celebration at Lord’s Cricket Ground after the NatWest Trophy win over England in 2002, Sehwag wrote a unique birthday wish.

“Duniya mein do tarah ke log hote hain.Jo shirt pehnte hain. Aur jo shirt utaarke history banate hain.Uss din poore Bharat ne feel kiya , haan bhai, ab hum bhi hain.Happy Birthday Dada @SGanguly99 . Lord’s ki woh balcony aaj bhi khuli hai," Sehwag tweeted.

On his birthday, Sourav Ganguly also revealed that he has been drafted into the ICC Hall of Fame, becoming the 12th Indian to be a part of this prestigious recognition.
