Mumbai Indians (MI) flamboyant batter Ishan Kishan slammed a powerful shot which hit skipper Rohit Sharma during the ongoing clash between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Notably, the two sides have locked horns at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday, April 18 in match 25 of the ongoing IPL 2023 season.

Upon winning the toss, SRH skipper Aiden Markram decided to put the visiting team to bat first. Mumbai’s opening duo of Rohit Sharma and flamboyant Southpaw Ishan Kishan swiftly hit the ground running in the high-octane clash, getting 33 runs in the first four overs.

However, during the midst of the innings, Ishan Kishan, who was up against pacer Marco Jansen, was involved in a near-horrific incident involving the MI skipper. On the fourth ball of the fourth over, Ishan drilled a half-volley back down the ground, only for the ball to hit Rohit, who was at the non-striker’s end. The skipper was hit right on top of his pad, fortunately, did not sustain any injury.

Notably, Rohit Sharma and Co. will look to clinch two more points from their ongoing fixture against Hyderabad. The five-time IPL winners endured a dismal start to the season, losing two games on the trot but swiftly bounced back with as many wins in the next two.

The side registered a sensational win against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their most recent outing, winning the electrifying clash by five wickets. Moreover, Mumbai will aim to put up competitive first innings total against SRH to remain steady in the contest.

Speaking about their head-to-head records, MI and SRH have contested 19 matches and the results are quite close. The most decorated side in the league, MI have won 10 games whereas SRH have obtained wins on nine occasions.
