Sri Lanka A squad for Tri-Nation series against India A and Afghanistan A announced

Sri Lanka have announced their 'A' squads for the upcoming tri-series and four-day series starting from Tuesday, June 9. Sri Lanka A will play a tri-nation series involving India A and Afghanistan A before facing the Men in Blue in four-day matches. 

Lanka's A squad have a plethora of players with international experience under their belt. Some of the notable players to feature in the 16-member squad include the likes of Niroshan Dickwella, Avishka Fernando, Sadeera Samarawickrama and Chamika Karunaratne, to name a few. Samarawickrama ended the 2026 National Super League 4-Day Tournament as the leading run-scorer, hitting 384 runs from six innings at an average of 76.80.

Sahan Arachchige, meanwhile, has been named captain of both squads. The 30-year-old has only played six matches for Sri Lanka's senior side, but comes into the tri-nation series on the back of some excellent form in the domestic and List A circuit. The left-handed batter scored 66 and 74 the last time he represented the A team against New Zealand A in April on home soil. 

In one of the most highly anticipated A series in recent times, Sri Lanka A are up against a star-studded India A side consisting of some of the biggest names in international cricket and the Indian Premier League. These include the likes of captain Tilak Varma, Ruturaj Gaikwad and 15-year-old starlet Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
