Suniel Shetty's statement sparks pregnancy rumours around Athiya Shetty's first child with KL Rahul

Speculation about Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul's family planning has sparked again after a recent remark made by Athiya's father, Suniel Shetty. The Bollywood actor, who is also a judge on the dance reality show Dance Deewane, dropped a hint that led to widespread rumors of Athiya's pregnancy.

During a recent episode of the show, when host Bharti Singh teased Suniel about becoming a grandfather, he responded, saying that in the next season when he returns, he will be walking on the stage like a nana. This comment fueled speculations that Athiya might be expecting her first child with cricketer husband KL Rahul. 

“Yes, next season when I come (On Dance Deewane), I will be walking on the stage like a nana," said Sunil on the reality show, as quoted by Hindustan Times.

The couple, who tied the knot in a private ceremony in January 2023, celebrated their first wedding anniversary earlier this year. In a joint Instagram post, they shared a romantic video showcasing moments from their wedding and married life, captioned, “Finding you was like coming home."

However, as of now, neither Athiya nor KL Rahul have addressed the swirling pregnancy rumors. Their silence leaves fans eagerly awaiting of official confirmation or denial regarding the speculation.

Suniel Shetty has previously expressed his admiration for his son-in-law, referring to himself as KL Rahul's father. He spoke fondly about Rahul's cricketing prowess and his journey from being a fan to becoming a father figure to the cricketer.

"I said father, I don't know the role of father-in-law; I was his fan today there is a relationship, but I loved Rahul, like I do a lot of young talent. I am someone who has always gone to watch talents perform, even in my prime as an actor. I would go to Wankhede to watch young people play. When I saw Rahul play, I thought this kid was good, and then he was from my own backyard; he is from Mangalore. I am someone who is very proud of anything that children from small towns achieve, so I was a fan, and today I am a father. I know him as much as he knows himself, every move of his," Shetty said.
