Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore trade Mayank Dagar and Shahbaz Ahmed

In a major development ahead of the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore have traded Mayank Dagar and Shahbaz Ahmed.

Shahbaz Ahmed was secured by Bangalore in the 2022 auction for INR 2.4 crore while Dagar joined Hyderabad for INR 1.8 crore in the same year. In the 16th season of the tournament, Dagar played three games for SRH but failed to make any imapct. He will hope for a different outcome when he takes centre stage for Bangalore.

Similarly, Ahmed played 10 games for Bangalore in 2022 but failed to make any good of his performances. An official announcement for the same trade is expected to come through by Sunday morning (November 26). Meanwhile, there have been other reports that ace spinner Wanindu Hasaranga and pacer Harshal Patel could also be excluded from the RCB squad for the upcoming season, however, no official confirmation has come forth as of yet.

Hardik Pandya to return to Mumbai Indians

With the deadline for the trade rapidly approaching, there have been several reports that Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya is set to move to his former team Mumbai Indians. As per reports, Mumbai will be playing INR 15 crore and undisclosed fee for the trade of Pandya while they will not take any player in return. However, no official communication has been made from either Mumbai Indians or Gujarat Titans so far in that regard. The official deadline for announcing the player retentions is November 26.

If Pandya is traded to Mumbai, it will be one of the biggest trades in the history of the IPL. He will also be only the third captain after Ravichandran Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane to be traded in the league's history. Notably, , in 2020, Ashwin and Rahane were traded to Delhi Capitals from Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals, respectively.
