T10 cricket gives you freedom to express yourself: Misbah-ul-Haq

The T10 Global Sports, organisers of the Abu Dhabi T10 and US-based SAMP Army Cricket Franchise, have announced the inaugural season of the US Masters T10 League in the United States in Dallas, Texas. A total of six teams will participate in the tournament as the thrilling 10-over format will see legendary retired cricketers as well as young stars participating in the league.

Several well-known cricketers, including Misbah-ul-Haq, Shivanarine Chanderpaul, Corey Anderson, and other USA national and domestic players, were present at the tournament's official launch. Former Pakistan cricketer Misbah stated that the new and shorter version of cricket will allow players to express themselves more than the T20 format did.

“As the format becomes shorter, it allows you to express yourself more and enjoy more. Longer formats bring some amount of pressure in different situations. T20 used to give more freedom as compared to other formats like ODI and Test cricket, but now T10 will give you more freedom, because there is only one way of playing - go there and express yourself”, Haq was quoted by the Quint.

Ritesh Patel, the owner of SAMP Army Cricket Franchise, one of the main organisers of the American edition & League partner said, “Excited to bring this fast explosive cricket format to the USA. Players participating in this tournament have huge following all over the globe and this is a great opportunity for American fans to witness this for the first time on American soil.”

"T10 was founded in 2017 to bring to the format of a fast game like football and we are in the US now after 6 years. Since this is a fast, energetic and action-based sport we thought the US would be a great destination for a format like this," he added. Meanwhile, the tournament was announced in March and is set to take place in June.
