The Hundred League has garnered much attention for its 100-balls per-side format. The batting has got intense and the bowlers have a lack of favour with just five balls in an over at their disposal. But the London Spirit pacer Daniel Worrall has made bowling look so feasible as he contained big-hitter Tom Kohler Cadmore from scoring any runs in 10 consecutive deliveries.
Kohler-Cadmore, who opened the innings for Welsh Fire against Spirit on August 1, was welcomed by Worrall with swing and movement as the batter struggled middle the balls. When he connected, he could not find gaps, and the dot balls piled up. The pacer coming from a different end served Kohler-Cadmore the same dish but the batter made sure Worrall could not feast on his struggles as he fell to Olly Stone scoring four runs on 13 deliveries.
Here’s the video of Worrall’s spell to Kohler-Cadmore:

Tonight was a very big game for us after losing the first two matches: Dawson
Talking about the game, London Spirit won the toss and opted to bowl first, restricting Welsh Fire to just 94 runs in 100 balls. Liam Dawson and Daniel Lawrence dazzled with three wickets each and Spriit sensed an easy chase. But Matt Henry brought Welsh Fire back into the game as he picked the wickets of their top three batters. On the back of Lawrence’s 29 and Shimron Hetmyer’s unbeaten 30, Spirit chased the target with 13 balls remaining and three wickets in hand.
“Tonight was a very big game for us after losing the first two (matches), so it gives huge amount of confidence to get over the line. Started off nicely, was a nice pitch to bowl on. Just had to bowl in the right areas and the wicket did the rest. Got tight in the end, but the boys will be confident going forward. It was a bit quicker, you just tried to hit the stumps, you need to simplify when you play on such pitches. Just tried to do that today,” said Dawson after the game.
