After stepping down as Sri Lanka's head coach last month, Chris Silverwood has joined Oval Invincibles as their assistant coach for the impending edition of The Hundred 2024. The Invincibles won the title last year by beating Manchester Originals by 14 runs in a riveting final at Lord's.
During Silverwood's reign, Sri Lanka had some notable moments, including the T20 Asia Cup win in 2022 and the runners-up finish in the 50-over Asia Cup last year. However, in the T20 World Cup which was held last month, the Lankan Lions were ousted in the first round, as they registered defeats against South Africa and Bangladesh. After the abrupt exit from the marquee event, Silverwood resigned from the head coach's role.

Mahmood bid farewell to Oval Invincibles to join Pakistan as their assistant coach earlier this year. Matt Walker and Jim Troughton are the other members of the coaching staff in the men's Oval Invincibles team.
James Foster joins London Spirit support staff
Former England wicketkeeper-batter James Foster has made a comeback to The Hundred after losing his job as Northern Superchargers coach last year. He will be replacing Paul Collingwood as one of Trevor Bayliss' assistant coaches at the London Spirit.
The London Spirit have added two more assistant coaches to their women's team setup. The new changes saw the arrival of Yorkshire men's assistant coach, Ali Maiden, and Sunrisers' Marc Broom in the London Spirit support staff.
