Royal Challengers Bengaluru recently registered their fifth consecutive win in the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024. Staying in contention for the playoffs, the side’s latest win against Delhi Capitals saw them move up to fifth place in the standings with six wins and seven losses in 13 matches.

Over a month ago, RCB’s chances for playoff qualification looked grim. With just one win in their first eight games, the team was completely out of form. However, their resurgence has been special to witness.

Making their way back into the race for the playoffs, RCB pacer Yash Dayal thinks that the turnaround has been possible due to the team environment and an aggressive approach to their matches.

"There has been a positive change. Even when we were losing, no one was pointing anyone's name out. This supportive atmosphere, coupled with a newfound aggressive approach, seems to be the winning formula for RCB," Dayal said in the post-match press conference.

"There has been a positive change. And all through the season, we were positive. And now we have become more attacking," he added.

As for RCB’s clash with DC, batting first, the side managed to post a total of 187 runs in the first innings and limited Delhi Capitals to a meagre total of 140 runs during the run chase. Yash Dayal was the highest wicket-taker for his side, with three wickets to his name.

Speaking of his performance, Dayal credited his spell to the coaches, revealing that all he is focused on is dismissing the batter that is in front of him.

"Credit for this goes to our coaches. Whenever I start bowling, my aim is just to remove the batter in front of me so that I can save some runs. So this is a very positive sign for the team,” Dayal said.

After their win against DC, Royal Challengers Bengaluru will now gear up to take on five-time champions Chennai Super Kings. Both sides will lock horns in the 68th game of the tournament on Saturday, May 18.
