Toyam Sports Limited set to launch T10 Legends Cricket League of Six countries

Toyam Sports Limited (TSL) is set to launch a T10 Legends Cricket League, consisting of six countries. TSL is India's sole BSE & MSEI listed sports company that is engaged in various sports production, promotion, and management. The tournament will be organized in association with TSL’s UAE-based subsidiary sports company, Pacific Star Sports (PSS).

 The T10 Legends Cricket League teams will participate in the tournament viz- India Legends, Australia Legends, England Legends, West Indies Legends, South Africa Legends, and Sri Lanka Legends. The league will be featured by cricket legends of yesteryear.

Mohamedali Budhwani, the CMD of Toyam Sports Limited, expressed his pleasure and excitement to start a league like this for the legendary players. He also said that the company will soon make an official announcement on the same. 

“We at TSL & PSS are very excited to conceptualize such a global short-format, annual cricket league. The format, schedule, venues, and the participating cricketers will soon be shared with the media,” Budhwani was quoted as saying by ANI. 

“The idea is to bring back the super stars of cricket to the ground who we have loved and idolized as cricket fans,” he added.

Budhwani further said that the tournament will be a major development in the world of cricket. 

“This will be a significant development in the world of cricket. The series will be an amazing property for the broadcasters, streaming partners, and advertising brands to associate with,” Budhwani said.

Other T10 cricket leagues around the world

The Abu Dhabi T10  is a legends league in the United Arab Emirates that started in 2017. Thereafter, the ICC (International Cricket Council) sanctioned the league in 2018 as a semi-professional cricket tournament officially. There are five retired Indian cricketers are featured in the Abu Dhabi T10  league- Suresh Raina, S Sreesanth, Abhimanyu Mithun, Harbhajan Singh, and Stuart Binny playing for different franchises. Apart from them, former West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard and South African batter David Miller are also playing for the Abu Dhabi T10 league.
 
Deccan Gladiators, Raina’s team captained by Nicholas Pooran clinched the title last year defeating Pollard-led New York Strikers. The seventh edition of the league is scheduled to commence on November 28, 2023, at the  Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Furthermore, The European Cricket League in the T10 format began in 2019. It was started by a German cricketer named, Daniel Weston to promote cricket in Europe. Initially, eight teams were playing in the league, which has expanded to 30 European nations now. Spain were the host of the 2021 and 2022 editions, respectively,
