New Zealand's ace pacer Trent Boult has revealed the name of three batters that he has found very difficult to bowl to in T20 cricket. He has named T20 great Chris Gayle to be one of the cricketers while Kieron Pollard and India international KL Rahul are the two other batters.

The 33-year-old pacer also stated that in the shortest format of the game, the batters tend to express themselves without any hesitations and that's what excites him the most about the format.

“That's a tricky question. There are so many batters. I've always found (Chris) Gayle very hard to bowl to, I've found KL Rahul very hard to bowl to. Polly (Kieron Pollard) would be up there as well. T20 cricket is one of those games where guys are out there trying to express themselves, take the game on, no fear. Pretty exciting product, really,” said Boult while talking to Hindustan Times.

Trent Boult hails the standard of cricket in ILT20

In 2022, Trent Boult took a major decision and opted out of New Zealand’s central contract to focus more on franchise cricket played all across the globe. Notably, he hasn’t played a single match for the Kiwis since the T20 World Cup 2022 and participated in the Big Bash League (BBL) and ILT20 instead.

Now, talking about the brand new league in the UAE, Boult revealed that the standard of cricket was exceptional in the gulf country as all the six teams showed tremendous effort on the field.

“That's the challenge you want. You come to the tournament not knowing what to expect. The standards of cricket is exceptional. There's been some great performances. The quality is there among all six sides. Teams are stacked with lots of talent,” the cricketer added.

Notably, Boult is not going to feature in New Zealand’s upcoming two-match Test series against England, which is slated to begin on February 16. He is expected to take a break before returning to action for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League 2023.
