Vaibhav Sooryavanshi makes massive ICC rankings leap after Player of the Series heroics against Zimbabwe

Indian batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has made a stunning start to his international career, earning a huge leap in the latest ICC Men's T20I Batting Rankings after his outstanding performances against Zimbabwe. The 15-year-old prodigy was named the Player of the Series during India's clean sweep in Harare, finishing with 151 runs in three matches at an impressive average of 50.33.

Sooryavanshi's remarkable performances have earned him 536 rating points, helping him climb an incredible 230 places to a career-best 48th position in the T20I batting rankings. The left-handed batter announced himself on the international stage with a brilliant 81 in the series, showcasing his fearless stroke play and composure despite his young age.

India continue to dominate the top of the T20I batting rankings with Ishan Kishan retaining the No. 1 spot. Kishan currently has 910 rating points after the Zimbabwe series and maintains a comfortable lead over Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan, who is second with 848 points. Kishan had earlier reached a career-best rating of 916 points, the third-highest batting rating in T20I history. Only Abhishek Sharma (931) and England's Dawid Malan (919) have recorded higher ratings in the format.

Several other Indian players also enjoyed significant gains in the latest rankings. Tilak Varma climbed to sixth position among T20I batters, while Shreyas Iyer moved up to 24th after consistent performances. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi also made progress, jumping to 41st in the T20I bowling rankings.

Zimbabwe had a few positives despite the series defeat. Ryan Burl rose six places to joint 85th in the T20I batting rankings, while fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani climbed 10 positions to 26th among T20I bowlers.

In the ODI rankings, Shubman Gill reclaimed the No. 1 batting ranking, replacing New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell, who had occupied the top spot since January. Namibia spinner Bernard Scholtz also made notable progress, rising five places to seventh in the ODI bowling rankings after impressive performances during the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series in Utrecht involving Nepal and the Netherlands.

The latest Test rankings also witnessed several movers. West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves climbed 21 places to 48th among Test bowlers and rose to ninth in the all-rounders' rankings after producing five consecutive wicket maidens. Fellow West Indies pacer Jayden Seales advanced five spots to 24th in the bowling rankings, while Pakistan's Mohammad Abbas jumped nine places to 17th. Pakistan star Babar Azam also moved up four places to 15th among Test batters following his 32nd Test half-century.
