Virat Kohli showcased remarkable form in the ICC World Cup 2023, leading the runs tally and claiming the prestigious title of Player of the Tournament. His stellar performance included a historic feat as he became the first batter to achieve 50 ODI centuries, surpassing the iconic Sachin Tendulkar. This incredible display propelled him to the 3rd position in the ICC Men’s ODI Rankings for batters, surpassing South Africa’s Quinton De Kock.

Kohli's exceptional form in the recent ICC Men's Cricket World Cup saw him notch up a tournament-best of 765 runs, propelling him to third place in the latest rankings, just 35 rating points shy of teammate Shubman Gill. Gill retains a slender lead atop the batter rankings with 826 rating points, closely followed by Babar Azam at 824.

Meanwhile, Rohit's impressive 597 runs established both of them as the tournament's leading run scorers. Gill managed a respectable 354 runs, while Babar's 320 runs couldn't steer Pakistan to the knockout stages. This allowed Kohli and Rohit to make significant strides toward claiming the top rankings in the aftermath of the tournament.

Virat Kohli dominated as the No.1 for a whopping 1258 consecutive days over nearly four years from 2017 to 2021. Babar held the premier position until Gill’s ascent during the World Cup. Gill and another Indian batter surge resulted in Quinton de Kock, the South African opener, slipping two spots to fifth in the ODI batter rankings.
Mohammed Siraj lost his Numero Uno position

In the bowling rankings, Mohammed Siraj slipped from the top spot but remains a part of an impressive quartet of Indian bowlers in the top 10. Currently, Siraj secures third place, with Jasprit Bumrah closely behind at fourth. Mohammed Shami holds the 10th position while Kuldeep Yadav sits comfortably at sixth. Keshav Maharaj leads the pack with a substantial 741 rating points, followed by Josh Hazlewood, now at 703 points, climbing up the ladder.
