Kent overcame Essex by a fair margin of 5 wickets with 5 overs to spare to improve their net run rate. Surrey trashed Glamorgan by 9 wickets with 11 overs to spare and sent a message to other teams in the tournament.
Durham and Yorkshire played a thrilling match. The former beat the latter by just 3 runs in a match that saw both batters and bowlers of both teams shine. The match of the night was between Northamptonshire and Leicestershire, which ended in a thrilling tie. The encounter between Sussex and Hampshire turned out to be a nail-biter too, as the former beat the Hamps by seven runs, despite not taking a lot of wickets.
