[WATCH]: Rohit Sharma can't control his laughter at MS Dhoni's mimicry
The incident took place at the 27th edition of the CEAT Cricket Rating (CCR) Awards in Mumbai.
Star Indian batter Rohit Sharma was seen at his jovial best at the CEAT Cricket Rating Awards 2025 in Mumbai, where a mimicry artist left the audience in splits by imitating MS Dhoni, including Rohit’s reaction, which went viral.
During the ceremony, Rohit, seated beside his wife Ritika Sajdeh, couldn’t contain his laughter as the artist mimicked Dhoni’s tone and demeanor. The two-time ICC trophy-winning captain was seen laughing out loud, even turning towards Ritika, who was laughing and shaking her head at the moment. The video of the couple enjoying the performance went viral. While several cricketing personalities were imitated that evening, it was Dhoni’s impression that grabbed attention.

Rohit Sharma reacts to ODI captaincy snub
Meanwhile, at the event, the cricketer also reflected on India’s remarkable comeback after the 2023 ODI World Cup heartbreak. Rohit credited Rahul Dravid and the team’s collective mindset for India’s back-to-back ICC triumphs, including the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy.
"Look, I love that team, loved playing with them and it's a journey that we were all into for many years. It's not about one year or two years of work. It was about getting into work from many years. We'd come so close to winning that trophy many times but we couldn’t just get over the line. That is where everyone decided that we need to do something different," he said.
Notably, this was Rohit’s first public appearance since being relieved of his ODI captaincy. The BCCI had recently announced Shubman Gill as India’s new ODI skipper ahead of the upcoming Australia tour, with Shreyas Iyer as vice-captain. However, Rohit remains in the squad alongside Virat Kohli. The batting stalwart even looked fitter and leaner at the event, drawing widespread appreciation for his preparation for the upcoming series in Australia.
"I love playing against Australia, love going there, people in Australia love cricket a lot," Rohit added.
