Bangladesh and South Africa are locking horns in Match 23 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on Tuesday, October 24 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. South Africa captain Aiden Markram won the toss and elected to bat first. All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz almost provided the breakthrough for his side in the second over itself as he managed to find the edge of Reeza Hendrick’s bat. However, Tanzid Hasan at first slip couldn’t hold on to the catch giving Hendricks an early life.

However, the South African opener couldn’t make the most of it as he got cleaned up by Shoriful Islam in the seventh over for 12. The left-arm seamer sharply brought the ball back into the right-hander from over the wicket and managed to breach the defence of Hendricks. Following the dismissal, Shoriful was seen celebrating in a unique fashion as he danced in elation.

His dance reminded fans of the famous step of Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan in the song ‘Ik Pal ka Jeena’.

After losing Hendricks, South Africa further lost the in-form Rassie van der Dussen in the very next over who got trapped in front of the stumps by Mehidy Hasan Miraz leaving his side on 36/2 after 7.5 overs. Seeing their team in trouble, captain Markram and Quinton de Kock put on a massive 131-run stand for the second wicket off 137 balls.

The stand was broken by Bangladesh captain Shakin al Hasan who dismissed his South African counterpart in the 31st over. Markram departed for a well-made 60 (69) leaving his side on 167/3.
