Sri Lankan cricket sensation Pathum Nissanka voiced his disillusionment regarding the national team's showing in the crucial ICC World Cup 2023 clash against Australia. Despite a blistering commencement, the squad was unable to sustain their early brilliance, resulting in a calamitous batting nosedive, which culminated in their dismissal for a mere 209 runs after 43.3 overs.

"Despite our promising start, we deeply regret not being able to sustain it, resulting in us being limited to a score of 210 runs. I'm hopeful that I can contribute significantly by scoring a substantial number of runs and playing substantial innings in the upcoming matches," Nissanka said at a post-match press conference.
