Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) humiliated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on the night of the final and won their third IPL title in the league's history. The three-time champions have been the most dominant team and finished as the league leaders then went on to win Qualifier 1 against Hyderabad and defeated them in the final on May 26, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

Be it with the bat or bowl, they were ruthless throughout the season and skipper Shreyas Iyer was extremely proud of the performance of his players and stated that they played like invincibles. The 29-year-old also noted that KKR played flawlessly throughout the season and explained that the players have delivered what was expected from them.

“We played like invincibles throughout the season. There's so much to cherish right now. It is pleasing, the performance has been flawless throughout. I am running out of words right now. We have been tremendous from game one, we stepped up today. All we demanded from ourselves was to back each other whatever the situation is,” Iyer said in the post-match presentation.

Speaking about the match, the Mumbai-born cricketer stated that the match could have gone either way as Hyderabad have played some good cricket throughout the season. He added that the toss played a role as they were very happy to bowl first, which was key in their success.

“The game could have (gone) either way. They have been playing phenomenal cricket  - SRH - throughout the season. We were lucky to bowl first and every situation went in our favour. Thanks to SRH the way they played. Looking forward to play more competitive cricket,” he said.

Meanwhile, on May 27, KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer posted a photo of him with the trophy near the swimming pool. The batter captioned it saying that he is taking it everywhere he goes.

The players partied till late in the night as part of the IPL win celebration as multiple such videos including Abhishek Nayar, Varun Chakravarthy and Ramandeep Singh dancing on Desi Boyz track have gone viral so far.
