Ashes rivals England and Australia are set to face each other at the colossal Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 on Saturday, November 4.

At the toss, England captain Jos Buttler said that they are sticking to the same playing XI that suffered a 100-run defeat against India in their previous game. However, Australia made two forced changes to their lineup. Glenn Maxwell, who suffered a concussion after slipping and falling off a golf cart, was ruled out of this clash while another all-rounder Mitchell Marsh missed out having travelled back home due to family reasons.

These two impactful players were replaced by seam-bowling all-rounders Marcus Stoinis and Cameron Green. The former recovered from a calf niggle and will be looking forward to making his presence felt at the marquee event. He played three games prior to his injury and scored 46 runs at an average of 23 and a strike rate of 121.05. With the ball, he chipped in with three wickets.

What did the captains say at toss?

"We were batting actually, so not fussed about losing the toss. Our opening batters are looking good, Stoinis and Cam Green come into the XI in place of Maxwell and Marsh. This clash always has a bit of spice, a great time to play them and I'm looking forward to the game," said Cummins.

Jos Buttler said: "We will bowl first. Little bit tacky, should get better as the game goes on, we'll have to bat better. Had some time away from the game which was nice, and then back to practice. Playing against Australia is always good, plenty to play for, some pride and there's a Champions Trophy place to secure. Same team for us."
