India are set to take on Australia in the fifth T20I of the ongoing five-game series. Both sides will face off in the final game of the series at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Sunday, December 3, and the Men in Blue will go into the clash with a sense of relief as they have an unassailable lead of 3-1 in the series after beating the Aussies in the fourth T20I.
As the final game approaches, it could be interesting to see how India fares in the final game and what lineup the side field has. Many eyes are set on pacer Deepak Chahar as well. The 31-year-old was quite expensive in the fourth T20I, conceding 44 runs and taking two wickets in the four overs that he bowled returning to international cricket after a long time.
Speaking of the same, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra came forward to opine that Chahar would look to stamp his authority in Bangalore and would be keen on establishing himself as a serial wicket taker for the Indian team.
“Deepak Chahar, because he is becoming a regular member in all formats, needs to make a comeback after proving slightly expensive with the new ball. He picked up wickets in the last match, but it is a good game to enhance his reputation as a wicket-taker with the new ball,” Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.
Furthermore, Chopra also stated that a chance in the fifth T20I could prove to be a huge opportunity for wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma. The batter looked to be in the flow in the fourth T20I and scored runs quickly.
“I think how big an opportunity it is for Jitesh. Ishan Kishan is a gun player. He scored half-centuries in the first two matches. However, the big news is that if Virat (Kohli) plays at No. 3, you won't be able to make a place for Ishan. So only a keeper who plays at No. 5 or No. 6 can play,” Chopra said.
